When technology is wonderful

Kirk is in Texas again, but FHE(family home evening) still went on and Kirk gave the lesson.

There was the usual amount of little boy goofiness:

And "Do As I'm Doing" Craziness:

With hugs & kisses at the end:

We'll meet on Skype again in the morning for scripture study. Thank you, technology!

While the boys are away...

The girls are going to sleep in the family room after they watch a movie.

:c)

Going Camping!

Spencer & Daddy headed off to go to the Father & Sons camp-out. Spencer has been *so* excited all week. I think he will probably talk Kirk's ears off tonight. :c)

Such a great big sister

We call her "Mini-Mommy" and it's clear why.

She has an especially close bond with her two younger brothers.

She babysat them for about 2 hours on Tuesday night while I took the other two girls to piano and soccer.

It was cold and rainy outside, so I didn't want to make the boys stand outside in that.

I got home between 7-7:30 and both the boys were in bed.

She's a keeper. :c)

(These were taken last night after we got home from soccer practice. I know a couple of these are blurry, but they were so cute I didn't care.)

Question for moms of kids with VP shunts

Is this normal? Elijah has developed a bruise right above/on top of the scar where his abdominal incision was for the end of his shunt. I don't think there was any kind of trauma to that area. You can feel a hard bump under the skin that feels like it is the end of the tubing. It moves when you press on it. It's not tender and he doesn't mind for me to touch it. I think I should probably email his neurosurgeon and ask, but I'm asking Dr. Internet first. :cD

The bruise doesn't photograph well, but since it has gotten darker since Friday when I first noticed it, the camera in my phone picked it up tonight at bedtime. The dark shadowy area below the bruise is part of his scar from the shunt placement.

What do you think? Has something like this ever shown up on your kids?

Prayer Request

Please remember our little friend Cayman in your prayers. She is a very sick little girl right now. She went into surgery earlier today for her shunt. I hear she came out of surgery well, but she is still a sick little girl. Continue to pray for her and her parents.

And if anyone has recent updates, we would love to hear how she is doing.

Update Friday Morning: Cayman had a scary day yesterday, but is stable now. She's still a sick little girl, so please continue to pray for her, her parents and her doctors. You can read an update on her blog this(Friday) morning.
